Barbara J. Prouty, 67, of Northampton died, May 20, 2016. She was the wife of the late Lyman A. Prouty.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Howard S. and Anna Jean (Adam) Insinger.

She was an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance Company for many years until she retired in 2004.

She is survived by a son, Seth D. and his wife Jordan K. of Hastings, Mich.; two daughters, Allison G. Wilson of Northampton and Megan L. and her fiancé Phillip A. Baggett of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Phineas, Keziah, Noah and Abigail; and a sister, Susan G. Insinger of Mesa, Ariz.

She was predeceased by a son, Craig L. Prouty; and a son-in-law, Bill J. Wilson Jr.
