To the Editor:
The American Family Association of Pennsylvania sent out an Action Alert which follows: “Synopsis: On Friday the US Department of Education and US Department of Justice issued an illegal directive to every school district in the nation demanding they open the girls’ bathroom, locker and showers rooms to boys and vice versa.
Parents need to let their schools know this will not happen on their watch.
You can go to the AFA of PA website to read the information sent to the schools.
Included in this directive is information that tells school districts if they do not comply with the federal government, funding will be withheld.
I never thought the U.S. government would stoop to this form of threat.
I know there are those in our human race who feel they have a different sexual orientation than the majority, and in this free nation, they are allowed to have that mindset.
But, I get upset when they demand their own way above those of us in the majority who do not have that same way of thinking.
I was appalled to read Gov. Tom Wolfe has appointed a transgender to be our state’s physician general.
What a shame that .03 percent of the population rules what the other 99 percent do!
Something is very wrong in the attitude of our government, both federal and state.
Why can’t Pennsylvania be a leader in this nation, along with the other 12 states who will ignore this illegal directive to our nation’s school districts because of this form of blackmail that if it is not enforced, they will not receive funding from Washington, D.C.?
Whatever happened to rule by the citizens of America instead of rule of big government.
It is about time we, the people, begin to stand up for what is right!
Remember, it only took one unhappy, non-Christian person to get prayer out of schools.
Isn’t it amazing more than 300 million people could not get it back again?
I read somewhere that “As the schools go, so goes the nation.”
Since prayer was taken out of the public schools in c. 1963, the nation began to become something very different than when I went to school.
I graduated from Northwestern Lehigh in 1961.
Perhaps, if the values of the family would once again be put into place in the schools, (i.e., open the day with prayer, 10 verses of scripture from the Bible, recitation of the Lord’s prayer, pledge of allegiance to the American flag, followed by a patriotic song or hymn), it just might prepare the students’ minds and hearts for the day.
One can only hope our nation can be turned back to being the once-great nation it was.
Perhaps if the American people would do what God said in His Word, we could once again be great!
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:140
May God have mercy on our land.
