Zion Stone United Church of Christ will host a penny party June 3 in the social hall of the church, 51 Church Road, Kreidersville.

Doors open 5 p.m., and the penny party starts 6 p.m.

A silent auction will be held. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

The Kreidersville Covered Bridge Festival will be held June 4 and 5.

Highlights of the event include a Civil War re-enactment, featuring Friends of Camp Geiger, and displays by Museum of Indian Culture, Gress Mountain Ranch, a garden railroad and Pa. Woodmobile.

There will be a pig roast and a beer and food pairings tasting.

Trout Unlimited will have free fishing for kids.

Lehigh Valley Zoo will be at the festival both days.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 4, “Preserving the Past with Digital Photography” will be presented by local historian Larry Oberly. You are encouraged to bring old pictures of township events, businesses and organizations. Oberly will create a CD-ROM for you as well as one for the township archives.

Saturday also will include a magic show and a 1 p.m. presentation by Hawk Mountain.

A pie contest will take place Saturday, with 1 p.m. judging.

A cake contest will be held Sunday, with 1 p.m. judging.

Entries for the baking competitions must be in place by noon on their respective days.

A duck race will be held 5 p.m. Sunday.

St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 8142 Valley View Road, Seemsville, will hold a chicken barbecue dinner June 11. There are two seatings available: 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The menu includes a half-chicken or a quarter-chicken; baked potato; dinner roll; pickled cabbage salad or applesauce; and dessert.
