Violet C. Hillegass, 94, of Macungie, died May 21, 2016, in ManorCare, Allentown. She was the wife of the late John H. Hillegass. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Carrie (Schuler) DeFrain.

She was a sewing machine operator for the former Emmaus Shirt Factory and Jo-Mar Manufacturing, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie.

She is survived by a daughter Cynthia L. wife of Mark S. Belinsky, of Macungie; grandchildren, Abby Roth and Leyna Belinsky; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Sydney; brother, Clifford DeFrain; sister, Betty Fritz and Geraldine Schmeltzle. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Adam Roth and three brothers and seven sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. May 25 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmuas. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
