Ruth Naomi Datzyk, 95, of Allentown, died in her home May 16, 2016. She was the wife of the late Walter Datzyk. Born in East Texas, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Marian (Miller) Snyder.

She founded, owned and was a teacher at the Datzyk Montessori School, Allentown. She taught 70 years.

She was a member of Cedar Lutheran Church, Cetronia.

She is survived by daughters, Marian and her husband John Kavanagh, of Midlothian, Va. and Linda and her husband Dr. John Turrisi, of Reading; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John.

Contributions may be made to Chestnut Hill College to establish a scholarship for students pursuing graduate studies in the Montessori Teacher Education Program. Checks may be mailed to Chestnut Hill College - Institutional Advancement, 9601 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, 19118.
