Russell Earl Bauder Jr., 79, of Alburtis, died May 9, 2016. He was the husband of Carole A. (Schock) Bauder. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in September. Born in Wassergass, he was the son of the late Russell and Veronica (Mueller) Bauder.

Before retiring in 1996, he worked at Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 40 years.

He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Emmaus.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.

He was a member of the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club and the Lehigh County Democratic Committee.

He was a wonderful, loving and giving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and playing cards. He loved gardening and took pride working on projects with his wife in their home. He relished spending time with family and friends and celebrating family milestones.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Sheila and her husband, Richard Dorney II, of Schnecksville; son, Matthew, of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter, Rochelle and her husband, Joshua Strub, of Allentown; sisters, Frances Stinner, of Allentown; Patricia, and her husband Carl Derr, of Fogelsville; Nancy, and her husband John Hinnerschietz, of Macungie; Mary, and her husband Robert Fox, of Alburtis; Colleen, and her husband Gerald Moyer, of Mertztown; brother, James, of East Texas; granddaughter, Rachel Dorney; sister-in-law, Dorothy; large extended family. He was predeceased by sisters, Catherine Bower, Gertrude Baus and Monica and brothers, Thomas, Joseph and Robert.
