Peter B. Woods
Peter Barr Woods, 81, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Macungie, died peacefully May 10, 2016, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Jacquelyn (deJourno) Woods. They were married 51 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Arnold and Mary (Flynn) Woods, of Allentown.
He attended Perkiomen Prep, before graduating from Allentown High School as valedictorian. A nuclear engineer, he earned a Master of Science degree in engineering physics from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
He proudly served in the Third Army (“Patton’s Army” to him).
He worked for GE and PP&L before retiring and moving to Florida. He will be remembered for his love for Jackie, storytelling and laughter, manhattans at cocktail time and late night talks at the kitchen table.
He is survived by his children Christopher and his wife Beth; MaryAnn and her husband David Przekurat; Cindy and her husband Joseph Garso; grandchildren, Zoey and Andrew Przekurat and Jackie Garso; siblings and their spouses John and Suzanne, Janice, Robert and Nancy Sechler, Jill deJourno; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, James and brother-in-law, Victor deJourno.

Services will be held 11:30 a.m. May 18 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown. Following the service and burial, there will be an open house to celebrate the lives of both Peter and Jacquelyn at the Woods-Przekurat household in Macungie. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
