Joseph A. Mertl, 68, of Whitehall, died May 12, 2016, at Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia. He was the husband of the late Nancie M. (Kloiber) Mertl.
Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Joseph A. Jr. and Beulah M. (Wagner) Mertl.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a machine operator and worked in the shipping department at Lightner Source. Prior to that, he was supervisor of supply chain management at Lehigh Valley Hospital and was a parts manager for Krause Toyota.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ann and her husband Kenneth Molenstra and Rebecca Ann Laudenslager and her companion Craig Stecker; three grandchildren, Dylan, Kaylee and Meghan; and one great-grandchild, Kayden.
