The Jolly Tars perform at 2 p.m. May 14, Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Jolly Tars recreate the music of the golden age of sail in southern New England throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States.
The group’s presentations feature sea chanteys, ballads and clawhammer banjo tunes, augmented with harmonica, whistle, banjo-ukulele, percussion instruments and piano.
Concerts include anecdotes about the life and times of 19th century sailors and their ships. The Jolly Tars dress as sailors from the days of square-rigged sailing ships.
