Rodney L. Williams

Rodney L. Williams, 69, of Milford Township, formerly of Upper Saucon Township, died May 6, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Health Network, surrounded by his loving family after an 18-month battle with ALS. He was the husband of Naomi (Haines) Williams for 48 years. Born in Nashville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Eugene Jackson Williams and Ethel Loraine (Lewis) Helfrich.

He graduated from Emmaus High School and Bethlehem Business School.

He worked for Air Products and Chemicals from 1967 to 2000. After leaving APCI, he worked as a home and radon inspector for Alined Services for 10 years.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Coopersburg.

He enjoyed tennis, driving his sports car, racing and traveling, but most of all he enjoyed spending precious time with his family.

He is survived by his wife; son, Daniel Paul and his wife Mariah, of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Susan Ann and her husband Joel Evans, of Milford Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Ste. 260, Ambler, 19002 in his name to help fund research for this devastating disease.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
