Mildred M. Shelly, 87, of Emmaus, died May 4, 2016, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of George H. Shelly, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Lehighton, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Roth) Thomas.

She was a registered nurse working for St. Luke’s Hospital and lastly for the late Dr. Frederick Martin in Emmaus, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the ladies trio and a volunteer with the Women’s Missionary Society.

She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her husband; children, Donna A. and her husband, Duane Platz, Donald G. and his wife, Mary and David P. and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Nicole and her husband Christopher Steirer, Christopher and his wife Gisselle and Sarah and Shannon; great-grandchildren, Noah and Ava Steirer.
