The school year is quickly drawing to a close. There are many in-school activities and events as well as field trips planned for the students.
Northwestern Elementary
There is a Partners In Education meeting scheduled for 6:45 p.m. May 13 in the cafeteria.
Fun Day, for students in kindergarten through second grade will be May 11 on the recreational field. All kindergartners are to report to school in the morning that day. Rain date is May 13.
The third to fourth grade elementary challenge will take place May 17 on the recreational field. Rain date is May 20.
Third grade students have been working very hard in music class in preparation for their musical 7 p.m. May 12 in the high school auditorium.
The program, “The Pearl of the Night,” will take the audience on a student expedition into the depths of the oceans.
Everyone is invited to attend this entertaining and educational program.
On May 2 Northwestern Elementary began collecting Pennies for Patients.
This program is designed for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and allows the students to help in the fight against blood cancers. The goal for this year is $1,300.
The program will run until May 16.
Weisenberg Elementary
There will be a spring blood drive from 2-7 p.m. on May 10 in the north parking lot on the kindergarten side of the school.
The blood donation will be used at local hospitals.
Anyone ages 17 and older may donate.

Weisenberg will be presenting its first third-grade musical, “Fractured,” 2 p.m. May 11.
On May 10 kindergarten through second grade students will be showing what they learned in physical education class throughout the school year. Rain date for Play Day is May 12.
