Bob Frey, a resident of Stiles, has been spending time in Florida the past few winters where the sport of bocce is quite popular.
Frey decided to take up the sport and, over the years, has found he is quite a natural.
On Feb. 27, Frey and his three teammates from Ohio won second place and a monetary prize of $220 in the annual Bob Ray Memorial Bocce Tournament in Marco Island, Fla. The tournament consisted of 16 teams.
Frey’s team lost by only two points in the final game.
Impressively, each year Frey has entered the tournament, he finished as a team member on one of the top four teams.
