Doris J. Banyas, 82, of Emmaus, died peacefully with her family by her side April 22, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She told us that she loved us just before she passed. She was the daughter of the late Ethelbert and Dorothy (Thomas) Ortt.

She graduated from Jefferson High School, Emmaus, in 1951.

She was a lifetime member of St. John’s UCC, Emmaus.

She will always be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always thinking of others. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy, and her husband Alex Sojtori and their daughters, Tanya, and her husband Jim Edelman, and their daughter, Ryder and Taryn Miller and her daughter, Reese, and their son, Taylor Sojtori; son, Tom, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, and their children, Mya and Cole; estranged daughter, Sherry and her husband, Bill Kline and family; brother, Larry Ortt and his wife, Dot and family; sister, Jeanne Drust and family.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Services will be 1 p.m. April 29 in the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A calling hour will be held noon to 1 p.m. April 29 in the funeral home.
