The New Occupant

Tweeting her sweet trills

She is a most welcome newcomer

to the neighborhood

While she remains only a brief season

She is a delight to our ears, tiny as she is

Arriving in May

She searches out housing

Though other older residents

may object to her presence

She builds a nest where comfortable

Then prepares for the emergence of her brood

She sings ecstatically

as her little onesare hatched

But by August, Jenny and her

fledgling wrens will be gone
