The 64th annual Festival of Bands will be held at 2:30 p.m. April 24, auditorium, Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Avenue, Northampton.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Musicians from the four Allentown concert bands are to perform: the Allentown Band, the United States’ oldest band which was founded in 1828; The Municipal Band of Allentown; the Pioneer Band of Allentown, and the Marine Band of Allentown.
An estimated 100 musicians are expected to be on stage.
The program theme, “Remembering Pearl Harbor,” includes music from the World War II era and salutes veterans, especially World War II veterans.
The Northampton Area High School Jazz Ensemble opens the concert.
The concert is intended to raise awareness about the needs of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
