William S. Kozell

William “Bill” S. Kozell, 89, of Whitehall, died April 17, 2016. He was the husband of Helen A. (Puskaritz) Kozell for 64 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Stephen and Veronica (Horvath) Kozell.

He was in the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He took part in the 1950s testing of the atomic bomb at Marshall Islands.

He was a machine shop supervisor for the former Fuller Company, Allentown, for 42 years. He was a substitute teacher at the Lehigh County Career Institute and at Bethlehem Vocational Technical School.

He was an accordion player with local bands from 1950 through 1980.

He was a member of the Fullerton American Legion Post 367.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Fullerton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen W. and his wife Kelly A. (Gross) of Gilbertsville; and a granddaughter, Katlyn A.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Signorovitz.

There will be a service noon April 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
