John E. Muik Sr., 85, of Coplay, died April 6, 2016, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Rutz) Muik for 63 years.

Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late John and Catherine (Kegerise) Muik.

He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient.

He was retired from Pabst Brewery Company, Foglesville.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall.

He was a member of American Legion Post 426, Coplay.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathleen and her husband Edward J. Betz of Whitehall; two grandsons, Anthony and Michael; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by a son, John E. Muik Jr.; a brother, Franklin; and two sisters, Julia Kropf and Doris Miller.
