Darlene A. Kern, 77, of Allen Township and formerly of East Allen Township, died March 28, 2016, at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late Marlin W. Kern for 15 years.

She was the daughter of the late Herman W. and Mildred I. (Schaffer) Bachman.

She attended Northampton High School.

She was a custodian for Northampton Area School District until she took early retirement after 19 years.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Howertown.

She is survived by three children, Denise R. and her husband Larry Bonstein Jr. of Allen Township, Scott M. of Weaversville and Douglas of Walnutport; four grandchildren, Kristen, Daniel, Christopher and Allison; a brother, Gary and his wife Judy Bachman of Kunkletown; two nieces; and two nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Bachman.
