Shirley A. Knerr, 77, of Allentown, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family April 4, 2016. She was the wife of Donald R. Knerr. They would have observed their 57th wedding anniversary this May. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Lackner, Sr. and Dorothy (Eck) Lackner.
She worked as an executive secretary for HCSC 21 years and she previously worked as a bank teller at Merchants Bank.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.
She is survived by her husband; children, Craig D. and his wife, Deborah, Jane E. and her husband, Tinos Koutroubis and James C. and his wife, Tami; sisters, Jeanette Lackner, Joan Guth and Carol Lackner; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Amy and a brother, Alfred, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. April 8 at St. Thomas More Cathoic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. Calling hours will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 7 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Sts., Allentown and 10 to 11 a.m. April 8 in the church.
