A record 10 Boy Scouts from Troop 352 of Notre Dame Church in Bethlehem were inducted into the Eagle Scout of Court of Honor ceremony Jan. 17 at Lehigh University’s Iacocca Hall.
According to Lori Weber of the Minsi Trails Council Boy Scouts of America headquarters in Allentown, the induction ceremony of 10 scouts from the same troop is the area’s largest ceremony.
The newly inducted Eagle Scouts attend four different high schools - Emmaus, Bethlhem Catholic, Freedom and Liberty - but have been together for 10 years since moving up from Cub Scouts.
“We are truly a band of brothers that goes beyond friendship. We have constantly been there for one another and have shared an amazing time together,” said Eagle Scout inductee Justin Dressel. Only 4 percent of Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in scouting.
Eagle Scout inductees from Bethlehem Catholic HS are Jason Ahing, Elek Zamoly, Liam McGregor, Adam Dabrowski and Rowan Hickey in front row. Parents in back row are Alma Ahing, Katie and Las Zamolyi, Todd and Kay McGregor, Jerry Dabrowski, Carla Hickey and Troop 352 Scoutmaster Michael Caffrey.
