Mary Ellen Scharadin, 77, of Bloomington, Ind., died Feb. 22, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Bloomington.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of Raymond R. and Marie B. (Schaeffer) Scharadin.

She was a 1955 graduate of Coplay High School. She earned a masters degree in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. She attended the University of Illinois.

She worked for state and federal financial institutions until she retired and, later, relocated to Bloomington.

She was a member of International Costumers’ Guild Inc., MENSA, SCA, AAAI and DPMA.

She is survived by a son, Thomas W. Langford of Texas; two daughters, Elizabeth “Phread” Langford of Bloomington and Rebecca Conover of Maryland; and four grandchildren.
