Donald P. Piper, 78, of Allentown, died Feb. 23, 2016, at his home. He was the husband of Ivona Piper.
Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Ellsworth and Anna (Shimkanon) Piper.
He was a Sgt. 1st Class upon retiring from the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany and Korea and was in Vietnam for two tours. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
He worked for Rexroth Corporation for over 25 years until he retired.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Heitler Kohl and her husband Bruce; a son, Derek L.; a sister, Dolores Mizur; three grandchildren, Sebastien, Grace and Daniel; the Strauss family; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jane Kratzer.
