BASD: Foundation dinner March 15

The Bethlehem Area Education Foundation fundraiser will be held at 5:30 p.m. March 15 at Arts Quest, Steel Stacks, 101 Founders Way. Proceeds will be used toward school grants, programs and curriculum.

Liberty HS: ‘Friends’ night March 11

The Friends of Liberty will hold “A Night of Excellence” from 7 to 9:30 p.m. March 11 in the foyer of the high school. The evening will benefit theatre arts at the school. Liberty HS: Jagota science finalist

Senior Milind Jagota has been selected as one of 40 finalists, out of a starting field of 1750, to compete in the Intel Science Talent Search. He will visit Washington, D.C., in March to compete for one of three top awards of $150,000.

He was also one of 20 national finalists in the 2015 Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology.

Liberty HS: YWCA honors Lin, Paatino-Flores

Seniors Sabrina Lin and Leticia Patino-Flores were named the 2016 YWCA Teens of the Year in a short ceremony at Liberty.

Fountain Hill ES: Book drive under way

Girl Scout Troop 82048, of Fountain Hill ES, will hold a book drive from March 1 through 23. The collected gently used and new books will be donated to the Cops ‘n Kids program. Contact kjones2@basdschools.org for information.

Nitschmann MS: Basket raffle March 12

There will be a basket raffle from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12 at Nitschmann MS to benefit Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering.
