Of the dozens of entries in the annual Lehigh Valley Press Focus section “Readers Pick the Oscars Recipients Contest,” there was only one winner.

Kitty Pherson of Lower Macungie Township was the only person to enter the contest who correctly picked all seven of the Oscar recipients in the contest categories.

Many contest entrants were close to picking all of the recipients. Many entrants were knocked out of the top spot by Sylvester Stallone, whom they chose as a supporting actor Oscar nominee for “Creed.”

Many also did not pick “Spotlight” as Best Picture.

The Oscar receipents in the contest categoroies were:

Best Picture: “Spotlight”

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio, “The Revenant”

Best Actress: Brie Larson, “Room”

Best Supporting Actor: Mark Rylance, “Bridge of Spies”

Best Supporting Actress: Alicia Vikander, “The Danish Girl”

Directing: Alejandro G. Inarritu

Animated Feature Film: “Inside Out”

I correctly picked four Oscar recipients of the seven categories. I had picked “The Revenant” as Best Picture, Rooney Mara as Best Supporting Actress for “Carol” and Sylvester Stallone as Best Support Actor for “Creed.”
