Joseph “Joe the Barber” J. Yurish, 77, of Northampton, died Feb. 21, 2016, at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Joseph W. and Mary V. (Martinjack) Yurish. He was the proprietor of Joe’s Barber Shop, Northampton, for 50 years.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his lifelong companion and fiancée, Sara Jane Krex of Slatington; a daughter, Karen M. and her husband Marvin Murphy of Whitehall; a brother, John “Jake” Yurish of Northampton; two granddaughters, Megan and Melanie Murphy; a niece, Ann Marie Surovy; and a great-nephew, Joseph.
