Lillian M. (Dwyer) George, 84, of Whitehall, died Feb. 19, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospice. She was the wife of Robert J. George Jr. for 65 years.
Born in Wyoming, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John and Christine (Eckart) Dwyer.
She was a 1949 graduate of West Pittston High School.
She worked in customer service for F. W. Woolworth, formerly at Whitehall Mall. She was the co-owner of Bob’s Lehigh Valley American Bus Company for 20 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Robert III and his wife Agnes (Hudak) of South Whitehall, David and his wife Nadine (Kannuck) of Schnecksville, Ronald and his wife Lisa (Adams) of Whitehall and Kevin and his wife Sherry (Wright) of Northampton; six grandchildren, Jessica and her husband Fred Cruz, Lauren and her husband Bill Hnat, Kristy, Colleen and her husband Andrew Kravelick, Sean and Kyle; five great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kaylin, Chase, Billy and Bobby; nieces; and nephews.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Feb. 26 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.
