A 19-year-old Upper Milford Township man is dead following an incident in the 400 block of Chestnut Street, Emmaus.
Cooper Wertman of the 6200 block of Chestnut Street, Zionsville, died Feb. 9 at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township, according to a press release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Wertman was pronounced dead 10:21 p.m.
An autopsy found Wertman suffered multiple stab wounds to his body and the manner of death was determined to be a homicide.
According to Emmaus Police, a disturbance was reported at approximately 9:33 p.m. at 424 Chestnut St. Police found Wertman inside and notified emergency medical personnel. Wertman was taken to the hospital.
While en route to the 400 block of Chestnut Street an Emmaus police officer allegedly found Steven Edward Driesbach, 24, of Emmaus, nearby. He allegedly identified himself to the officer and told the officer he was involved in the incident.
Dreisbach was arrested, charged with criminal homicide and arraigned in the Lehigh County Central Booking Center. He is jailed in Lehigh County without bail.
The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, Salisbury Township Police and Pennsylvania State Police assisted Emmaus Police.
Michael Nicol, 21, of Emmaus, was arrested for assault and harassment after an alleged incident Jan. 30. Roberts was processed at Lehigh County Central Booking Center and committed to Lehigh County Prison.
Scott G. Roberts, 43, of Emmaus, was arrested for assault and harassment after an alleged incident Jan. 30. Nicol was processed at Lehigh County Central Booking Center and committed to Lehigh County Prison.
John A. Cavaliere, 51, of Emmaus, was arrested for assault and harassment after an alleged incident Feb. 3. Cavaliere was processed at Lehigh County Central Booking Center and committed to Lehigh County Prison.
Reported in the 200 block of N. Sixth Street, a bicycle was removed Jan. 30.
Reported in the 200 block of N. Fourth Street, a vehicle window was damaged Feb. 2.
