Lucy Rhoads, 95, formally of Whitehall, died Jan. 29, 2016, while in hospice care at Cedarbrook Nursing. She was the wife of the late Alfred C. Rhoads Sr. for 65 years.
Born in Gabelsville, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Himmelreich) Moyer.
She was a 1938 graduate of Boyertown High School.
She worked for more than 30 years at the former Fuller Sportswear Company, Fullerton.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
She is survived by a son, Alfred Jr. and his wife Debbie of Catasauqua; two daughters, Gloria, wife of the late Nelson James, and her companion of Paul Grube of Lenhartsville and Barbara and her husband Harold Ziegler of Whitehall; 10 grandchildren, Jeff, Greg and Rodney James, Glenn Rhoads, Lisa Doddy, Sean McKelley, Brian, Douglas and Scott Wolfe and Kathy Burt; four step-grandchildren, William Ziegler, Darlene Kocher, Rose Borger and Tammy Kita; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; 13 step great-great grandchildren; a sister, Eva Godshall of Red Hill; and nieces and nephews and their children.
She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Moyer; a step-brother, Eli Moyer; and three step-sisters, Mary Landis, Hannah Sweinhart and Anna Booth; and a great-grandson.
Contributions may be sent to the church for the youth group functions or choir music.
