Elementary students will be dismissed noon Feb. 12 for a teacher in-service day. There will only be morning kindergarten that day.

There will be no school Feb. 15 for Presidents Day.

Kindergarten registration for children in the school district who will be 5 years old on or before September will take place at Weisenberg Elementary School April 6, 7 and 8.

This extension will only be available March 15-18.

Bring original state birth certificate with an official raised seal, two proofs of residency, proof of immunization, custody information if applicable and the child.

Northwestern Elementary

A Partner In Education movie night is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Feb. 5. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

The movie will be “Hotel Transylvania 2.”

Bring chairs, blankets or pillows.

This year’s main fundraiser is Northwestern Roaring Run.

Family and friends anywhere can support the school by giving pledges toward the number of laps a student will run on the day of the Fun Run.

The Fun Run program will be held until Feb. 10.

Everyday there will be a classwide activity for the students and updates on the progress of the pledges.

On Feb. 10, students will take part in the Fun Run and receive a free NWE Roaring Run T-shirt.

Weisenberg Elementary

Any fifth grade student who is interested in joining the Weisenberg Choir for the spring is asked to contact Carol Fella at fellac@nwlehighsd.org.

Choir rehearsals are held 8:10-9:00 a.m. Wednesdays.

The first spring rehearsal will take place Feb. 17.

Girls are invited to join Girls on the Run after-school program,

Run around, play games, talk about important girl stuff, have snacks, cheer each other on, and have tons of fun while training to participate in a non-competitive 5k with teammates and coaches.

Girls on the Run practices will be 3:45-5:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays March 15 through May 31 at Weisenberg.

Girls must be able to attend two days per week.

The end-of-season 5k will be May 26 at Lehigh Parkway, Allentown.
