I want to applaud and thank the thousands of township and other municipal workers who worked long and hard (and continue to do so) to open roads to make communities safe. Joining together with PennDOT crews, these municipal workers are making sure that the state’s 117,000 miles of roads are getting done.
Pennsylvanians can be proud of their road crews. PennDOT maintains more than 40,000 miles of roads, and municipalities have over 70,000 miles of roads to deal with so it is clearly a TEAM effort!

PSATS represents the 1,454 townships of the second class across Pennsylvania. Townships, in turn, represent 5.5 million Pennsylvanians, more than any other type of political subdivision in the commonwealth, and cover 95 percent of the commonwealth’s land mass.
