Irene M. Ransel, 61, of Whitehall, died Jan. 19, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Laurence Ransel.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, she was a daughter of the late Darwin and Lisa (Kil) Lauser.

She was a graduate of Whitehall High School and attended Penn State University.

She was an insurance sales associate for The Hartford, Fogelsville, for 25 years before she retired in 2014. She worked at Bamberger’s and Prudential.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Bruce W. Lauser of Monkton, Md.; a nephew, Sean Lauser of Newfield, N.J.; two uncles, Joseph and David Kern; and two aunts, Gloria Kern and Jeanne Costello.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
