LeRoy S. Anders

LeRoy “Roy” S. Anders, 90, of Alburtis, died peacefully Jan. 25, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Wilma Lee (Showalter) Anders and the late Anna (Moyer) Anders. Born in Harleysville, he was a son of the late Norman F. and Edith (Stauffer) Anders.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer for more than 35 years. He also worked for the United States Post Office in Alburtis, until retiring in 1992.

He was a member of Blandon Mennonite Fellowship. He was a church planter for the former Fredericksville Mennonite Church, Ark Bible Chapel and Blandon Mennonite Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife; four children, LeRoy “Lee” M. and his wife, Diane, Clyde M. and his wife, Elaine, Anna Mae Greiss, David M. and his wife, Sharon, all of Alburtis; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Irene and her husband Arthur Detweiler, of Danboro, Eleanor Miller, of Blooming Glen, Miriam and her husband John Myers, of Quakertown, Fern and her husband Chris Nissley, of Clarksville, Fla.; brother, Jeremiah and his wife, Elaine, of Bristol, Fla. and a sister-in-law, Pearl, of Live Oak, Fla.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Lloyd R. Greiss, a great-grandson, Skyler Chase Godshall and a brother, Norman.

Viewings will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 20 at Hope Community Church, 31 Lobachsville Road, Fleetwood, 19522 and 9 to 10 a.m. Jan. 21, followed by a funeral service 10 a.m.

Arrangements were made by the Anders-Detweiler Funeral home & Crematory, Souderton.
