Russell R. Kerstetter, 94, of Emmaus, died Jan. 7, 2016, in Country Meadows of Allentown. He was the husband of the late Margaret I. (Hertzog) Kerstetter. Born in Souderton and moving to Emmaus as an infant, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Miriam W. (Snyder) Kerstetter.
He was a 1940 graduate of Emmaus High School.
He worked for the Emmaus Post Office for 34 years, retiring in 1976 as superintendent of mails. After retirement, he worked for the Liquor Control Board at various State Stores.
He was a member of St. John’s UCC., Emmaus, having served as a member of Consistory.
He was a founding and lifetime member of the Emmaus Historical Society, Emmaus Lodge #792 and Consistory and a life member of The Emmaus Legion and VFW.
He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II in the Pacific and European Theaters.
He is survived by a son, David R. and his wife Robin K., of Emmaus; daughter, Jane E., of Hellertown; grandsons, Andrew and Jonathan.
