Violet K. Kosc, 79, of Emmaus, died Dec. 27, 2015, in Lehigh Center. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Florence (Bergstresser) Strauss.
She graduated from Emmaus High School and was employed at Allen Organ Co., Macke Food Service at Mack Truck Headquarters, Bob Kosc Luncheonette and Bar, Wiley House and KidsPeace, retiring in 2011.
In 1988 she won the Northern Region Culinary Olympics. She also won the 1996 KidsPeace Award for vegetable carving.
She was an active member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, serving as a member of the joint board, choir, care ministry, Stephen Ministry, altar guild, and kitchen committee. She also participated in Katrina Mission Work Camp in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
She is survived by a cousin, John Bergstresser and his wife Marlene. She is predeceased by a cousin Charles Bergstresser, wife Twilijean.
