Oliver O. Moore

Oliver O. Moore, 88, of Macungie, died peacefully at home Dec. 24, 2015, with his wife of 68 years, Jean, by his side. Born in Cambridge, Md, he and his family moved to Philadelphia and he enlisted in the Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II.

He graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1953. He worked 40 years at Geo. P. Schlicher & Son, Allentown, as a certified purchasing manager and office manager.

He was an active member of the Kiwanis and Printing House of Craftsman. He was a lifetime member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge of Philadelphia.

He avidly cheered for every Philadelphia sports team. He especially loved baseball and played with the Allentown Patriots and the Patriot Old-Timers well into his 80s.

He is survived by his wife; children, Ross and his wife Connie, of Palm Springs, Calif., Gail and her husband Michael, of Duck, N.C. and James and Clark, of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Caroline. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Elisa and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Grace and Aiden.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 1629 Hamilton St., Allentown. A gathering will take place 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
