John H. Carl, 91, of Allentown, formerly of Upper Milford Township, died Jan. 1, 2016, at the Lehigh Center, Macungie. He was the husband of the late Mae M. (Long) Carl, who died Jan. 15, 2011. Born in Old Zionsville, he was the son of the late Harvey and Minnie (Strohl) Carl.
He was last employed at the former Caloric Corp. in Topton for 12 years until retiring. He previously was employed at the former Rodale Manufacturing in Emmaus as a foreman for 34 years.
He was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Navy.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Emmaus.
He is survived by a son, John C. and his wife Donna; daughter, Sharon and her husband Thomas Bennett; sisters, Jean and her husband Carl Youngblood and Nancy and her husband Bob Weaver; grandsons, Jake, Joshua and Jeremy; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Carl-Silvius.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A gathering will take place 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in the funeral home.
