Jean Haas Wilson, 84, of Macungie, died peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital Jan. 3, 2016, with her daughters at her side. She was the wife of the late Harold L. Wilson, who died in 1963. Born in Red Hill, she was the daughter of Grover and Elsie Gerhart and one of nine children.

She was employed at Air Products, Inc., Lehigh County Meals on Wheels and the East Penn School District.

She was a dedicated mother and community volunteer for Macungie Park, as a Girl Scout leader and member of the Audubon Society and National Wildlife Foundation. She loved to work with children as a volunteer at the Caring Place in Allentown and as a storyteller for a local pumpkin patch.

She loved the outdoors, camping and hiking and was a member of the Allentown hiking and ski clubs. She also taught chair caning for 30 years and loved to knit and sew.

She is survived by daughters, Rebecca and her husband Dr. Glenn Short; Audrey and her husband Jeff Erb, Jennifer Lalik and Jane Shingler; sister, Ferne Queen; brother, Bruce Gerhart; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A calling hour will be held 9:30 a.m. Jan. 9 followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus.
