Northwestern Middle School raises funds for pediatric cancer family support fund

Northwestern Lehigh Middle School recently entered the Empowering Educators Caring for Communities contest run by PBS 39.

The program seeksto encourage youth to make a difference in their community by offering some type of public service.

Twelve winning teams were chosen by PBS 39, based on community need, project and impact.

The winning teams will receive $1,000 at a presentation in June.

NWLMS met and surpassed those requirements by raising more than $17,000 for the Lehigh Valley Health Network Pediatric Family Support Fund.

The school won for both its Pink Out and Operation Gratitude events.
