Laros Foundation presents 6 grants

Bethlehem based, R.K.Laros Foundation, established in 1952 by Laros Silk Mill founder and owner R.K. Laros, has awarded grants to six local non-profit organizations.

The Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley, $25,000, in support of their renovations to the Senior Center serving 40-60 adults at their Fourth Street Bethlehem location.

The Bethlehem Mounted Police, $20,000, to assist in the construction of the new stable and facilities in Bethlehem for the mounted patrol unit

The Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers, $15,000, in support of costs for their classroom expansion for Pre-K Counts students

St. Luke’s University Health Network, $15,000, in support of the purchase and installation of high quality panoramic imaging technology; hardware and software, for their Third Street dental clinic serving the local community

The Moravian Archives, $10,000 , to support the costs associated with a three year renovation plan to increase access to the archives

The Bethlehem Salvation Army, $10,000, to complete the renovations to their rest rooms at the Pembroke Road location,serving over 800 individuals monthly.

Foundation Trustees George Mowrer, Laurie Gostley Hackett, Diane Donaher, Dr. Michael Abgott, Laura Bennett Shelton and Ronald Madison with Executive Director Sharon Jones Zondag of the R.K. Laros Foundation presented the grants.

The R.K. Laros Foundation provides grant support primarily for capital projects in the Bethlehem Area. Grant proposals are accepted by May 1st and Oct 1st annually. Grant applications are available on the foundation website http://www.larosfoundation.org
