Harold Bartholomew

Harold R. Bartholomew, 85, of Zionsville, died Dec. 22, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Graber) Bartholomew. They were married 60 years. Born in Upper Milford Township, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Erb) Bartholomew.

He attended Emmaus High School and worked for 20 years, retiring in 2010 from Lehigh Valley Turfgrass, 25 years at Superior Combustion, Emmaus and for 13 years at Eccolaire Co., Emmaus.

He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Perry DD844.

He was a member of New Goshenhoppen UCC, East Greenville, where he served as a deacon on the consistory for four years and was a member of the Fellowship Bible Sunday School Class.

He was a member of the Upper Milford Western District Fire Co., Zionsville and Citizen’s Fire Co., Vera Cruz.

He is survived by his wife; children, Renee A. Pecuch, of Center Valley and Robin C. and his wife, Susan, of New Church, Va.; son-in-laws, Thomas Pecuch, of Coopersburg and Michael Caverly, of Bethlehem; sister, Althea Feninez, of Emmaus; seven grandsons, Sean, Curtis, Eric, Colin, Derek, Ryan, Alan; three great-grandchildren, Xavier, Ariana and Connor. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Caverly; siblings, Earl, Lloyd, Paul, Raymond, Allen, Robert and Donald, Pauline Hamscher, Betty Snyder and Helen Kehm and a grandson, Terry Fritz.
