David Winfield Schaeffer, 69, of Allentown, died Dec. 16, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the beloved husband of Judith Ann (Roycroft) Schaeffer. They celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary April 18, 2015. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ernest C. and Ruby (Engelman) Schaeffer.

After graduation from Emmaus High School in 1964, he began a career at UGI that lasted over 40 years until his retirement.

He was a former volunteer and past board member of the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit and a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County.

A talented pitcher, he played slow pitch softball locally for many years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.

He is survived by his wife; son, Scott and his wife Gaye, of Rising Sun, Md.; sister, Deborah Jean Orach, of Emmaus; three grandchildren; two nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, 18017.
