Joseph J. Fairfield, 68, of Slatington, died Dec. 23, 2015, at home. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Grube) Fairfield for 48 years.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Harvey Fairfield Sr. and the late Patience (Parry) Fairfield.

He worked in the maintenance and cleaning department for the Swain School of Allentown for 17 years until he retired in 2014.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Todd J. and his wife Alice of Slatington; two daughters, Jodi A. Cesanek of Whitehall and Sherry L. and her husband Rickie Kostenbader of Danielsville; a brother, David Fairfield of Bethlehem; a sister, Helen and her husband Terrance Morrison of Hellertown; and two grandchildren, Cody and Lauren.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Michael W. Cesanek; a brother; and five sisters.

There will be a calling hour 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., both Dec. 31 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
