John “Jack” T. Hart, 78, of Macungie, formerly of Bethlehem, died Dec. 19, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Patricia (Boyle) Hart. They celebrated 55 years of marriage Sept. 3. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Robert and Marcella (Carr) Hart.

He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp, retiring after 20 years, 1 month and 19 days. He also worked in the parts department for the Sears Service Center 15 years.

He was a life member of the Marine Corp League and the American Legion Walter Fox Post 2. He was a member of the VFW Post 9264 in Macungie.

He was an excellent craftsman and woodworker.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Rosemary Minardo, Kathleen and her husband Bryan Ring, Eileen and her husband Peter Vesely and Erin Gallagher, daughter-in-law, Cheryl; brothers, Robert and Bernard; sister, Marcella Bitler; grandchildren, Kelly, Tanya, Danielle, Joseph, Jarred, Emily and Christian; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Emery and his beloved dog, Chloe. He was predeceased by a son, Michael; grandson, Anthony and sister, Mary Cabrera.

A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Dec. 23, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, followed by a celebration of life memorial.
