Kathleen Brown
Kathleen Brown, 95, of Orefield, died Dec. 8, 2015, surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russel C. Brown, in 2013.
Born Sept. 16, 1920, in Fullerton, she was the daughter of Edna F. (Long) and John F. Snyder.
A 1938 graduate of Whitehall High School, she taught Sunday school in her youth at St. John’s Evangelical Reformed Church, Fullerton.
She was a life member of Eastern Star Chapter 458, Slatington.
Having worked for Reinert Electric in Allentown before and after WWII, she retired in 1985 from Parkland School District, where she was a library secretary.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
She was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ and participated in the Habitat for Humanity program.
She lived for her family and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Kathleen is survived by a son, Barry J. Brown of Whitehall and companion Bonnie Reabold; daughters, Barbara K. Brown and her husband Louis D. Michael of The Villages, Fla., and Peggy Goetz of Scituate, Mass.; grandchildren, Lenore “Lynn” and her husband David W. Tretter Sr. of Ironton, Alex Goetz of Vermont, Anders and Connor Goetz of Scituate, Mass., and Nicole Schultz and her husband Jon of Kempton; and greatgrandchildren, David Jr. and Kyle Tretter of Ironton,
She was predeceased by siblings, twin brother John “Jack” Snyder, Myrtle Fennelly, Grace Diehl and Frances Long.
A memorial service is planned for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at Jordan UCC, 1837 Church Road, Allentown. Refreshments will immediately follow services.
