Kathryn Rosencranz
Kathryn Rosencranz, 104, of Northampton, died Dec. 10, 2015, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Marcus Rosencranz.
Born in Kreidersville, she was a daughter of the late Henry A. Beil and Jennie Bartholomew Beil.
She was a seamstress and worked in Hess Brothers Department Store in the alterations department. After retiring, she was a matron at Nazareth Bible Fellowship Nursing Home for nine years.
She was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, where she was in the quilting society. She had previously been a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Northampton, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the quilting group.
She was instrumental in organizing the Blue Bell and Brownie troops, Girl Scouts of America, and was a Blue Bell leader for 10 years at Grace UCC. She was active with the Lehigh Council, Girl Scouts of America, as the troop consultant. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris R. and her husband Dr. H. Lowen Marshall of West Boothbay Harbor, Maine; two nieces, Jennifer Chabak of Northampton and Pauline and her husband the Rev. William Cordes of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a grandniece, Jean and her husband Elmer Faust; and other grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Stella Rosencranz; and a stepson, Marcus Rosencranz; two sisters, Edith Beil and Hilda Frack; and a brother, Oliver Beil.
There will be a calling hour 10-11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m., both Dec. 17 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
