Helen R. Zanger, 93, of Boyertown and formerly of Emmaus, died Dec. 11, 2015, at her home. She was the wife of the late George O. Zanger, Jr. Born in Boyertown, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Clara (Erb) Keim.
She was a graduate of Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a private duty registered nurse and later as an industrial nurse for Air Products, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Allentown.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, cooking and was a member of the Emmaus Garden Club.
She is survived by a son, Peter K., of Naugatuck, Conn.; daughter, Susan E. and her husband Phillip Nester, of Smithsburg, Md.; brother, William Keim; sisters, Grace John and Mary Sears; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, George O., III and daughter, Judith K. Kee.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 19 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation will be10:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
