Betty J. Hermany, 87, of New Tripoli, died Dec. 11, 2015, in Cornerstone Living, Weisenberg Township.
She was predeceased by her husband Wayne S. Hermany in 1995.
Born in Jacksonville, Lynn Township, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Madeline (Hermany) Frey.
She and her husband were the owners and operators of the former Blue Ridge Inn, New Tripoli, from 1958-92.
In addition to a thriving bar and restaurant business, they hosted many banquets and different club functions and meetings.
She was well known for her homemade dinner specials ranging from lobster tails to pig stomach, as well as her famous hickory nut cake.
She was a member of Jacob’s Church, New Tripoli as well as the Lynnport and New Tripoli fire companies.
Her survivors include a daughter, Donna E., wife of Carl Herman, and a son Richard W. Hermany, all of New Tripoli; sister Shirley, wife of Ray Hamm, of Orefield; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the church memorial fund, sent to the church.
