A city apartment building burned in the early morning Saturday, permanently displacing about a dozen residents.
Fire Chief Bob Novatnack said the fire was reported around 1:40 a.m., and units responded to 1551 Irene Street, where residents were fleeing the building and at least two people had to be rescued by emergency responders.
The fire was under control within a half hour, and four people were treated for smoke inhalation.
Novatnack told the media the fire began on the first floor, but the cause is still under investigation.
