Alexander L. Maggitti Sr.

Alexander L. Maggitti Sr., 85, of Fullerton, died Nov. 17, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Abbot) Maggitti for 61 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Gioiella) Maggitti.

He was a Staff Sgt. with the 10th Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps, and was a veteran of the Korean conflict.

He was a purchasing manager for the former Air Engineers, Fullerton, for many years.

He was a deacon in the Diocese of Allentown at his parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church; Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem; St. Francis Center, Orwigsburg; and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Allentown.

He was active in the Cursillo movement since 1973. He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367 and a lifetime member of Fullerton Fire Company. He was a charter member and a past president of Whitehall Rotary Club. He was on the Whitehall Township Ethics Committee.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Linda and her husband Robert Schiller, Gloria and her husband James Johnson, Geri Duke and her husband Michael Crilley and Paula and her husband Scott Engle; two sons, Alexander L. Jr. and his wife Patricia and Patrick and his wife Sara; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Gannotti and Adeline Scattergood; a brother, Frank and his wife Carmina; a sister-in-law, Josephine Maggitti; and nieces and nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by a sister, Carmella and her husband Raymond Sharrah; a brother, Lawrence Jr.; two sons-in-law, Jeffrey Duke and William Kressly; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Scattergood and Valentino Gannotti.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home Inc., Whitehall.
